I've sold one 450 Bushmaster Savage barrel to a Michigan customer this year, keep getting lots of inquiries them and the 50 Beowulf barrels - both fit into the requirements nicely.

No. Even if you had a pressurized coolant system cutting the die, both would normalize in the first minute or so, if not before.

My recommendation would be to form the brass you intend to use...

Generally, the bolt nose to bolt face dimension on a Savage is right at .115". Measure yours.

The GO gauge you have should protrude from the breech face when inserted into the chamber .120"+. ...

I've done both .308" and .310" groove barrels, the reamers are virtually the same other than freebore diameter(.0005" over groove) .065" total freebore, 1 degree 30 minute throats. Not CIP.

Looks like I should make another run of 7.62x39 Savage barrels shortly.

We have varmint contour Savage barrels back in stock, sporter contour barrels are still a few weeks out.

Current run are all 1/7 twist, I'm not opposed to making another run of 1/10 or 1/12 twist...

You'll need to machine a straight cylinder just forward of the barrel nut. I'd suggest about 3" forward of the nut for a .900" OD.

I don't believe there isn't enough side thickness in the stock...

Trinidad State teaches their students to blue Stainless Steel, I didn't think it could be done either.
