    Gas Checks

Is it possible and safe to fire a gas check boolit with no gas check? I am planning on firing subsonic 30 caliber. The only molds I can find at this time (on the list for one, but won't be ready till October) are gas check molds for the grain size I need, 200+. Will the boolit fly accurately? Any information would be appreciated.

I do it all the time.

It comes up often enough that there is even a sticky about it.

    Check it out here:

2nd or 3rd time this has been asked in a week. The 'Gas Checks" section was instituted for these questions.
