Title pretty much sums it up.

Just bid on several #1s at Rock Island Auctions. All went for $1200 plus. A gun store in Tennessee has two #1s in 243 for $850 each. I haven't seen any #3s sell recently.

Looking at buying, but not to sure yet. Don't need another caliber and I prefer the lines of a #1.

Do a completed auction search on GB.
    I probably wouldn't pay over $600, but I haven't priced in a while.

I own a#3 Hornet (not for sale). Last I checked, only the rare Calibers like 30-40 & .44 mag were fetching much.0

FWIW, about 10 years ago, a $700 retail was an average price for a #3 in a common chambering (some are rare & much more valuable)and excellent condition.

Anyone know the best way to mount a scope on a #3 (mine happens to be a 22h)?

Save your money and buy a #1. Much nicer rifle IMHO.

Better yet buy a 77 hornet and "K" it if you want it to shoot, carry's better too....

Mine all have the two pcs. weaver bases mounted to barrel. I have seen pictures of
folks that put the Ruger #1 Rib on a #3 but I never felt the need.
