    Recycling Gas Checked Boolits

I have fair amount of Lee 440gr gas checked boolits left (sold my S&W 500 )

I bought those before I ventured into casting here is my dilemma. I would like to smelt them and cast booltis that I will use but they all have gas checks on em.

What is easiest to remove said gas checks?

    Thanks in advance

Melt them and the gas checks will float to the top of the mix. Just skim them off.

I like to pull mine off with side cutters or wire strippers before smelting. Only takes a few minutes to do a whole bunch and then I don't have to fish em out of the post afterwards and they stay nice and shiny for the scrap yard.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

I melt mine, skim em off and re-use them.
