4 firsts in one hunt .. Graphic Pics .. be warned

so as some know here I started looking at cast bullets with powder coating for hunting about 7 months ago.. had no previous cast experience except for pure lead for muzzleloaders ..
so let me say again Thanks to everyone here for the knowledge imparted to me by you fine folks
    so here goes ..
    4 first today for me
1 300 Blackout (SBR 10" barrel) deer harvest
2 Leupold firedot comes thru for the win
3 NC legal suppressor harvest ( just became legal fior suppressors this year in N.C.)
4 and the best of all ....Mil hec 159 FN 98% COWW 2% HSB Powdercoated and running a whole 1500 FPS

It was a drizzly evening and damp morning .. 51 degrees and just at daylight foggy
I look across the field and see what I make out at first to be a coyote then as eyes focus its a 6 point buck (all I see at this point is horns )
line up and pull the trigger
he makes a stumble then takes 3 bounds toward the woods
hearing what sounds like a crash I climb down from the stand and head home to undress and get the 4 wheeler .
head back across the field and he is laying 35 yds from the impact
Absolutely could not believe the damage to the right side (entry wound) left side exit

Very nice...I am hoping to bag my first deer with a CB from my Mauser. Not successful yet, but am always encouraged when others do! How do you like the 300?

    Is that a hollow point?
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

I'd say that the "damage" was caused by an extended bleedout time. Deer didn't die immediately, so lots of internal bleeding into the area surrounding the wound. Much of it can probably be removed by scaping. I get the same often when hunting with .44s. Good reason to let the deer remain undisturbed for a longish time!

Looks like the load did the job. 35 yds. is about as good as it gets for killing. Unless you hit allot of bone and or spinal cord.

The blood is just what happens in the way the bullet hit and comes apart, pushes the blood and hide. Bullet is trying to pass the tough Hide and pulls, in this case the flank, you get this type of damage.

Man, there's a lot of trauma to that deer, I think
l would try a neck shot in the future with that gun.
At least we know the Blackout makes a good short range swatter.

So there was no extended bleed time
deer was dead within 1 minute and was pulling him on the 4 wheeler within 10
Bullet was a flat nose 312 159 gr fn powdercoated sized to 311
having a hard time explaining the entry damage myself. it did centerpunch a rib on entry and nice hole thru the lungs
yes very happy we can use suppressors now
good on 230 and 247 gr bullets. really wanted to see what the 159's would do
thanks to all for the responses

we are getting overrun with coyotes and the last 3 years I have seen less and less deer..
have hunted more this year than ever before and seen much less deer .. so its down to shooting cull bucks and does for meat

That's just blood, not blood-shot meat. The meat underneath is fine. My muzzleloader muley looked much the same, meat not damaged at all.

That is a great report. I had been thinking of hunting with my SLR95 with 154gr soft points, should be similar to this. Thank you.

I have perused the 300 blackout information, and this is making it even more irresistible.
