    LBT Moulds

Does anyone know what material LBT Moulds are made from? His site lists a multitude of data, but if he mentions what his moulds are made of, I couldn't find it.

I really would like to know whether they are made of iron, aluminum, brass, etc.
There is some ammo and more ammo. There is never enough ammo!

    I have a used 4 cav LBT mold in a 44 cal.
It is aluminum, I bought it used.
I have no idea if they use aluminum exclusively.

LBT uses aluminum for molds only, and I believe that they are the best strictly aluminum molds made.

I've been using LBT moulds for at least 30 years, started ordering them when he was in AZ. Always aluminum, always a pleasure to use. And pretty quick to make good on a problem I had with one of the moulds some years ago. First class in my book.

I don't know whether they make any more iron molds or not but years ago you could get one made from Meehanite which is a cast iron product that is a brand name. LBT bragged about how good that metal was for years.

I just checked, both lbtmoulds.com and lbtmolds.com get you to his web site. Apparently Varel has both domain names registered.

I was just casting w/a brand used 405-180 from them . I was just about to post something about it myself. The sprue plate is a little different ,I really enjoyed the session w/it.
