300 blk case cutter test 2

Made some changes so a local reloading business can test the concept out.

It is a .025" thick 5" diameter HSS slitting saw blade.

I cut 864 cases yesterday in 25 min with it. They picked it up last night, we will see how it holds up.

I have a 3600 rpm motor that I think would be better than the $49 drill press but not sure if it would be $360 better.

This beats the Harbor Freight cut off saw. I'm dreading getting 1k done this upcoming week.

I've got a drill press already. Will you be selling this kit to attach to a drill press?

I'll be honest I never intended to have one, already have better rounds (I feel) but a pile of brass along with palmetto selling 8.5" barrels for $79 a few days ago, I couldn't stop myself.

Man Jim, you are definitely a talented man! I saw the vid of the cutter on youtube, what a concept. If you ever do a DIY kit, count me in, I love this idea. In the meantime, I'll work on my own . Keep up the great ideas!

I am upside down right now but did put together another drive for the second generation Sunday using a linear slide but not sure when I can put the rest together.

At some point it would be nice to offer a DIY kit like the annealing machine, just have to make sure it is simple and works.

If nothing else a good set of plans. Really the only parts for a DYI kit are the plastic piece, the shield, and arbor for the blades. Other than that it looks pretty straight forward. Definitely the best option short of a Giraud that I've seen so far.

Awesome work Jim! Much faster than my chop saw, for sure! Now, if you could work a sizing die into that process, you'd really have something!

Hmm. Have the finished cases dump into the case collator and feed them into a press with a sizing die and a Dillon trim die, and you'd be set. Not sure the press would keep up with the cutter! That cutter is slicker than owl snot.

Yeah, it's much faster than my chop saw and jig as well, not to mention safer for the fingers!
