    Bench for Swage press

I recall a thread on here for benches made for Swage presses, but I can't find it.

I'm planning on a CSP2 MegaMite, and need to figure out how to mount it.

A point in the right direction would be most appreciated

You need a thick enough steel plate mounted on rock solid table.
The most important thing is the total height of the table steel plate included.
I missed the plate and had to place riser between me and the press

I actually use a stand from Inline Fabrication mounted on about a 1.5" thick extremely heavy melamine table. Seems to work pretty well.

I used two parallel 2x12's for the bench surface. 4x4's for legs. 2x4 skirt around the underside of the table surface plus a few 2x4 crossmembers. I had a 6" x 6" 3/4" plate of 1018 to mount the press to. Grade 8 bolts called it a day..

I second the 2x12's and 4x4 Legs. That's what I've done for my press and have good results. It makes for a sturdy bench

I went the 2 4x6 route with the 6 part going up and down bolted together. Wanted to have the clearance below for storage so i chose that over the 12s. The steel plate is important as well! My bench has hardly any flex and the only time i see it is when i am doing large cores and it is minimal than.

I did a butcher block table with 2x4's and all thread and topped that with 2x 2x12 boards. Used more all thread to mount the presses. No flex, no prob.

guywitha3006 fabricated a nice one from steel, more of a stand than bench though. See the pic in post 13 of this thread:
