    40sw MP mold

I already have the Lee TL401-175-WC mold and I'm not unhappy with it, but was thinking that I would like to get a MP 40 mold in brass seems as how much I like the other 9mm brass MP mold that I have. I did notice on the MP site that the 40 doesn't have any 401 size options like the Lee, only the 402 size. Can someone offer any input on what 40sw MP mold works best for your gun and setup such as size and boolit type etc?

401 and 402 are nominal sizes not exact sizes and should cast large enough to size down to that diameter.

If these are for a semiauto the TC will probably feed the best and seems to be popular. My closest experience is 9mm.

Mal is correct about the versatility of the 402 diameter. I have three different MP 40 caliber molds, and I powder coat these and a size them to 401 in various hollow point configurations. I have used them without fail in a Smith & Wesson sigma, an EAA witness in 10 mm, a Springfield armory 40 Smith & wesson, GP 100, and Smith 610 in 10 mm and a Herters 401 power mag. Mine range from 165 to 200 grain. I have had no issues with any of them. Pretty hard to go wrong with the MP molds

That Lee 401 mold is a solid performer. If you go MP at .402 it’ll still size fine. I’m shooting the Lee TC mold powder coated and sized to .401 in a 2 different Glocks both with KKM stainless match barrels. They both are very accurate.

Although there is no mention of pins that appears to be a Hollow Point mold with the sliding HP Pins. Lee does not offer HP Molds. I think MP makes the best ready made HP Molds. They are fun but a little more complicated than a regular mold. If that's what you want, go for it. I have about 8 MP Hollow Points, all great molds.

Excuse me, That mold comes with large and small HP Pins along with Cup and Blank Pins. Looks like Fun!

Dieselhorses, your barrel might have a short tight throat. My 9mm had that condition. DougGuy took care of that situation. Haven't had a malfunction since.

And you were able to cycle the TC's? Gooing to try Wolf barrel, if that doesn't work I'll send both barrels to him.
