I have one of those 1858 Remington New Army Replicas with minimal markings that I have been trying to identify, date, and value. It has the # "052674" stamped on the butt, the # "461" stamped on the barrel under the head of the cylinder pin and under the left grip, the word "nueva" cast under the right grip, and after a 3rd & much closer inspection, a mark that looks like a rectangular shield with crossed (swords?) next to the letters "PN".
Any opinions? A photo can be seen here:

Welcome to GunLoads, Richard P.
Could it be a Uberti repro? I know next to nothing about percussion revolvers except how to load, shoot, and clean them. None of the books I have here list them. That one looks like it has seen some serious shooting. I'll bet someone around here can give you an answer though.

The shield shape and "PN" seem to be the Italian proof marks, although incomplete. When I get down to more "official" sources, they all seem to say that there should be makers & importers marks clearly stamped.

While that is certainly true for anything made recently, who knows what they stamped on them in the 60's & 70's? I'm assuming it was made to underprice the Rugers. How is the quality?

I have one built in the early 80's in Italy with only a Number on the cylinder.
