Missouri Governor Vetos HB463

This morning, the day after we celebrated the Declaration to the world that we have unalienable rights from our Creator -- including the right to keep and bear arms -- the governor of Missouri vetoed the Second Amendment Preservation Act. (HB 436)

He cited the U.S. Constitution's supremacy clause and trumped up First Amendment concerns about language that was amended to HB 436 -- provisions intended to keep someone from "outing" gun owners in the media.

Here's where you can find the veto notice, including Gov. Nixon's veto letter: http://governor.mo.gov/actions/

While it would have been nice for Nixon to allow HB 436 to become law, the veto was not unexpected. HB 436 passed with enough votes to override the veto in September, so that's where we must now turn our attention.

Between now and then, we must plaster newspapers with letters to editors denouncing Nixon's decision to ignore the plain meaning of the 2nd Amendment and supporting state Reps and Senator's in an effort to override the veto.
