PRO-GUN NEWS, GOV NIXON SIGNED SB75 & SB42!

SB75 - We have won a great pro-gun victory in Missouri today!

At 10:30am, Governor Nixon announced he signed SB75 which takes CCW PERMIT
processing away from DOR and gives it totally to the local Sheriff.
SB75 also extends the Permit from 3 to 5 years, lowers the number of rounds fired
from 140 to 80 to qualify for a CCW Permit, allows the Eddie Eagle gun safe program
to be taught in public schools, establishes ASIRT (Active Shooter and Intruder
Response Training) Drills every year in all schools taught by
POST (Police Officer Standards and Training) certified instructors. This bill closes
all firearms ownership records to all except by order of the court. Biometric data other
than fingerprints are prohibited from being collected from CCW applicants.

Also, non-citizens who are US permanent residents are eligible for a MO CCW Permit.
There is a prohibition on state agencies sharing records or developing databases with
the federal government concerning ownership of firearms, ammunition or firearms
accessories. Provides the funding for costs involved in changing the processing of
CCW Permits from DOR to the Sheriff's Departments'.

SB42 - This corrects a mistake in the Vetoed HB436 (which may well be overridden in
the Sept Veto Session).
