We had 14 chickens,,,,.... now only 5.. we were geting one dozen eggs a day,,,,.... now 3... this is why, check it out

Perty bad eh? you should see the chickens... Two out of 5 got there tails burned off , OuCh!:fighting58:

Yea, But they werent smoking, no won in our family smokes, not enev the chickens!
how it starded was our lights, the light used to keep them warm in the cold of night,( see the snow?) but how it turned out is insted of just keeping them warm, the cooked them, and the eggs

I feel your loss. I too keep a few chickens. We have 12 hens and one rooster. One day my wife called me at work and said that the hen house burned down. This is exactly the vision I imagined. The only thing was that she was talking of a resturant about 35 miles down the road that we like to visit and not our HEN HOUSE. It must be tough to loose most of the flock.

Thinking back on this now...... I think it was AWESOME!! 4:00 am every body was up to see it.....ahhh.. well we needed a new chicken coop any way! HA

Tony, where do you live?
I had to leave Alaska a few years ago (long story involving women) I miss it everyday, especially now when we have real snow. I lived in Willow, got my nickname from a friend in Talkeetna back in the 90s.
