Lady with a magnum
I recently met a couple who moved here from Georgia and found that they were hunters. I asked the lady what she hunted with and she replied "a 300 ultra mag". This girl stands about 5'4 and weighs maybe 125. I'm impressed. I have arranged for her to hunt on some places without paying the $2,000 quoted to her by a local rancher. Dale

This may sound like a stupid question Dale, but how badly does she flinch when she shoots it? :( I won't touch one off again without the thickest Past recoil shield that they make, and I weigh around 185 and stand 6'. The one that I fired felt like a .375 Ouch & Ouch, it had a pretty thick pad on it, and I had on a heavy coat. Two shots were enough for me. That sucker just plain hurt. I can't imagine someone with a small frame like that shooting one more than once, or even someone a lot bigger shooting one from the bench enough to work up loads.

I asked her about recoil, she said it hurts some, but I can shoot it alright. I found out she also had a 7mm08, so advised her to use it for our deer. Dale

Large Kickers
I cant imagine why one needs a magnum to shoot deer.up to the turn of the century 1900 people used 44/40 and 32/20 and such I new one who used 25/20 and never lost a deer.I use the military calibers such as 6.5 jap and 30/06.
good for her but she does say it hurts so stop before you have damage to you shoulder.I'm 83 and still shoot.
