Default Holsters, what can you tell me about them?

Okay being new to guns I don't know things at all. I know a little but not much. I've heard of nylon and leather holsters, but I don't know what makes one better than the other. What so you think?
Here are 2 online holster options. How do you know if they are good?

It all depends upon why you want a holster. If you just want it to go back and forth to the range, then anything it will fit in is fine. However, if you want it for daily concealed carry, then that completely changes the picture. For daily use, it must be comfortable and not print (show the pistol) through your clothes. What works for a skinny guy won't if your gut hangs over your belt. Some rigs, like SOB (small of back) won't work if you are sitting in a car. It also depends upon what you are wearing - rigs that work for summer shorts & tshirts can cause problems with heavy winter clothing, and vice versa. Generally, you get what you pay for. Give us a little more information and we can give you some practical advice.
If I can see it, I can hit it. Now, where did I put my glasses?
