That might be a difficult search. It took me several years to glean two mags for my .308 from the gunshows, and one of them is a .243, but it works just fine. I haven't seen any in the last five years or so, but other parts of the country hopefully are different. I will keep an eye open for you, though. (If you come upon another 788 action with the small boltface like yours, I would be interested.)
If I can see it, I can hit it. Now, where did I put my glasses?

I could alo use a 222 mag. The clips are the same, but with diferant stamps. The gun usto be 222.

I kept my eyes open and asked around at the Manchester NH show yesterday. Not a single 788 to be seen there at all, never mind a mag for one. I will keep an ear to the ground. I would not be surprised if it takes a year or two to find one. The small boltface actions and mags were in great demand for a while by silhouette shooters for rebarreling to various TCU chamberings. I've been looking for one for a long time. A couple have been available, but never when I had the money.

If a .222 Rem mag will work, I may have a spare lying around here somewhere.
