Default I got the marlin xl7!

A few days ago i purchased a marlin xl7 in 270 win. The action is smooth and the barrle looks to be of good quality. Im going to throw a bushnell elite 3200 with the DOA ( Dead On Accuracy reticle). I'll be sure to give a range report as soon as possible.

The rifle shoots under .50 at 100 yds with cheap 150 gr ammo.

Excellent! Sounds like you've got yourself a keeper.
If I can see it, I can hit it. Now, where did I put my glasses?

I know that they had an excellent reputation for standing up to seriously harsh conditions, and that Redfield always had an equally good reputation for standing behind their products.

Leupold bought the name some time after they closed their doors in 1998 and still markets rings and bases under the Redfield name. If you search for them, you will find that there is still a place to get them repaired even though the original warranties are no longer honored. I had one on a Rem 700 which I sold. I found out later that the guy that bought it only wanted the scope and ended up reselling the rifle to someone I know. (I never liked the rifle, it was a very light -06 that was abusive to shoot and not particularly accurate, but I really liked the scope and should have hung onto it.)
