    Default 1884 action

I have an 1884 springfield action that I want to rebarrel. Any tips on this project?

    Welcome to the forum otto45.
Can you post a picture of it?
If I can see it, I can hit it. Now, where did I put my glasses?

    Wink 1884 Springfield = 45-70!

Are you thinking of changing the caliber, or keeping it 45-70?

If all you have is an action, I'd probably suggest a new barrel in Carbine length, with appropriate new Carbine style wood.

Whatever you choose, I'll be interested in the outcome. Good luck!
