I just went on a fun little guided fishing tour in White Bird Idaho. I caught a 21 inch Steelhead and a fellow we went with caught about a 29 incher (11 pounds). What a fun adventure!

I myslf have never gone fishing 4 steelies,but i am very intersted
in trying it and hopefully this year.

Yea the run is april/may so that would be a great time to go try your luck, it's fun to see the big boys fightin with you

Saw this post on White Bird and thought it might mean Steelhead fishing!

Some of us are thinking about a Steelhead trip to the Riggins area sometime after the first of the year. My friends have been going for several years, but I'm not sure just exactly where.

I really like hooking up with a good big fish. Still have the Fenwick fiberglass spinning rod I built just for Steelhead. Now I've got to buy a new reel. I'm thinking of the Penn 6500 SS, but haven't decided for sure. That reel should double for Salmon fishing on the Monterey Bay, when I get a chance to visit friends in that area.

And after you catch one, the eating part isn't bad either!
