Default Single Shot Pistols and others

How many of you utilize one of these for your 'go to' gun, when you want to bag any game? With the power and sights inherent in these 'handcannons' of today, one has no limit as to the size of game that can be taken. What is your favorite?

I got a Ruger P89 9mm that is my favorite little handgun to take. It's not extremely accurate, but I can unload 10 rounds on a squirrel pretty fast and the ammo is cheap. I've shot over 2,000 rounds through it and have not had a single jam. It's a great little sidekick gun.

Ive had several of the single shot pistols but have traded them off ...I just never "felt" it, dont know why. My huntin handgun is a Blackhawk in 45 Colt. 300 gr cast bullet heavy crimp and 16.5 grs of 2400. Not an overly brutal load but not something youd want to put in your SAA Colt!

Well, for biggame I use a 45-70 in the Contender( when my brother gives it back )
Then there is the Encore 30-40AI which just about perfect for most. I wouldn't mind having a 338 something.

had a few contenders and encore calibers. the .223s all held under 3" at 300yd, even the 10" bbl. if i need bigger, there is a frame with either .270,.308 or o6 on it. all 3 do about the same when power is needed. recoil wise i would rather put 20 rounds of .30-o6 throught my 15"encore then my rifle at the bench. next one is going to be the color case frame in 257 roberts from fox ridge. trying to deside if it is worth doing an AI. have both die sets.
