    Default Remington 1911R1

Well boys I just acquired one of these and I have to tell you up front it feels great, points with the instant sight alignment one would expect from a good defense weapon, appearance is cosmetically correct in every aspect, and with the new features they have incorporated such as a Tighter Barrel Bushing and a three dot sight system, plus offering an 8 round mag. as a replacement or addition if you will, they seem to have everything covered.

Now all I have to do is get some range time to evaluate the performance of the weapon. After I get to the range I will post my results. I want mainly to ensure smooth positive feeding of the ammo and how the accuracy stands up, I will shoot from a forearm rested position two-handed grip. I am going to use Magtech Factory ammo because it was the only ammo I could find that matched the old Military Spec. Rounds, 230Gr RN FMJ at a Muzzle Velocity of 835 FPS. and a Muzzle Energy of 356 Ft. Lbs. claiming 1.6 inch mid range trajectory at 50 Yds.

Muzzle Velocity was from a 5" test barrel
